The Alldredge Family Foundation (AFF) is an independent 501(c)(3) qualified charity.
Why was the Alldredge Family Foundation (AFF) created?
In 2003, a group of parents whose families had benefited from the experience of having one or more children attend Alldredge Wilderness Journey had an idea. They had each experienced the strains adolescence can place on the child and the entire family, and the new opportunities opened to them by the Alldredge Academy program. These parents decided to try find ways to help each other after Alldredge—as well as other families facing similar challenges with struggling teens.
How does the Alldredge Family Foundation (AFF) help families?
The Foundation is an organization of volunteers, operating on a limited budget. We believe we can make a difference by reaching out to families in a number of ways. Our current programs include:
Alumni Activities
AFF sponsors the annual Alldredge reunion to help families reconnect with their shared Alldredge experiences.
Information and Referral
AFF publishes free newsletters to anyone who wishes to receive it. Our publication shares the experiences of former Alldredge students and their families, provides updates on staff and program changes, and publicizes resources for families for counseling and other support groups in various parts of the country.
Aftercare Scholarships
Our newest program focuses on aftercare scholarships and is aimed at helping families in the critical period following their teen’s return home from a residential or wilderness experience such as Alldredge. The Foundation offers scholarship grants of up to $1,500 to qualifying families who may need assistance with the cost of counseling or similar services when their child returns home or expects to attend another program.

"We thank you so much for the scholarship grant to support our son’s continued maturation. The funds have provided important family assistance while he receives the follow up support he needs. Equally important is knowing that there are caring and understanding folks like yourselves who recognize the challenges we are facing day to day and year to year. We appreciate you!"
